elegant/ugly irony

G8. G8. G8.
Saturday: A big gig about poverty, and the reduction of inequality.
Saturday: Tony Blair and a big delegation fly out to Singapore for some flimflam about an Olympics bid. What did that cost? £50k? You can bet that they didn't fly economy.
Christ.

No need to ask who takes poverty seriously, really - the "ordinary man" or his/her elected representatives? What was that our Tone said about "listening and learning"?
Mind you, German "politics" is also a kind of parlour game at the moment, so we're no better off...

London won, London won! Oooh.

I'm going to pace the build up of my excitement: I don't want to peak too early.

I like the regeneration aspect - pity we can't get motivated to do that without some showy/pride driver.
