the dead

This is an interesting site. I wondered if it was for real at first, but I think it is.

Kind of gritty, authentic, humbling, and perspective providing.

(Thanks for the steer to this, Mags.)

It's perspective providing alright. To the extent that I'm tempted to break my no work advice pledge and say, don't throw in your job to become a coroner. Eew.

No problem. I think this site taps into my fear/interest in forensics and death and medical investigation. There are tons of shows like this here in the U.S. I don't know if it's the same there in the UK. Anyway, "Silence of the Lambs" is one of my favorite movies; I so wanted to be like Clarice. But I decided against it, because death freaks me out, and I wouldn't want to deal with it day in and day out. Very interesting site, isn't it?

Yeah, we get the CSI variants, and a few of our own (the SFX people love working on those rotting corpse FX, don't they?).

This site feels like it captures a more prosaic, seedy, depressing/amusing reality. It kinda wakes you up, don't it?

Glad you are... shall I say, enjoying Coroner Stories.

I encouraged my brother to put up this site since he always has great stories to tell when comes back from a call.

Believe me when I tell you this is authentic and that it barely scratches the surface of gruesome, humorous, heartwarming, and real.

Enjoy!

Yeah...'enjoy' is a problematic verb in this context.

Real life can be so much more moving and meaningful than drama. (Sorry, my platitudes are a bit crass today...!)

cheers!
